Runner Up Award

I still don't know where we are going but Whitney Brown had the BEST guess thus far. I believe her guess deserves its own special post. Whit's guess was ....
Yes folks, the brand new GREAT WOLF LODGE in good ol' Concord, NC. I have to give it to her, it was a very good guess. The killer bunk beds (shown below), millions of kids running around, huge indoor water park filled with peeing kids, and right near my house is VERY tempting. I figured Mike might value our relationship a little more than that :)
I mean, the Great Wolf Lodge might be great one day when I have a few kids. But for now, I'm hoping for a quiet get away with a pool, ocean, glass of wine and my boo.
Thank you for the entertainment Whit! Even though I think you lost the guessing contest, you might still end up with a special prize from Wings. :)

*they even have a location in Traverse City!!!

Where's Becky Going...

This weekend Mike is taking me out of town to celebrate our anniversary.
He has planned the whole thing and won't give me many details. He says "just trust me." I do trust him, but I just like being in the "know" AND "in control."

He did tell me I don't need to bring my "sleep sack" b/c the bed won't creep me out, there is a pool, might be near an ocean, I haven't been there before and then a list of things I should pack. I wish it was already Friday morning at 8am so the GPS would tell me where we are going!!! But I have promised to be patient and enjoy the surprise....I'm doing my very best :)

So let's play...guess where Becky's going.
If you guess it correctly, you might just get a special souvenir.
If we are lucky enough to end up near a Wings, you might even get a hermit crab, Indian blanket or screen printed t-shirt. (Dad-only one guess b/c I know how much you love Wings)

One Year Old

That’s right, “Living in the Moment” is turning ONE YEAR OLD TODAY!

I started this blog on a whim and I wasn’t sure where it would go or if I would enjoy it.
I have a condition called “not following through with what I start.” Its true- I was born with this condition. I’m sure mom is laughing at this point and thinking about all the things I have started in my life and not finished. Just a few to remember…tap dance, piano lessons, Floyd the rabbit, cleaning my room, building a playhouse, diets and so many more. I have tried to get better over the years and be more responsible. Well mom, I did it…I am still going strong with my blog after a year and love it.

I won’t go through a list of all my favorite posts or the ones I would go back and rewrite. But I will toot my own horn and take full responsibility for Em and Lora starting a blog. I LOVE that we each blog now and so many of my friend’s blog too (that wasn’t b/c of me though).

Hopefully this blog thing will continue for at least another year…

Coffee Talk

I'm a coffee lover...I get it from my mama.

Since Christmas (thanks to Mike), I have a new coffee pot that has the auto-start function. When I wake up in the morning, I smell the coffee before I jump in the shower and its ready for me when I walk out the door.

I don't drink my coffee fast...I like to enjoy it throughout the morning and don't like it when it starts to get cold. I used to have a great mug that kept my coffee hot all morning. There was a tragedy involving me driving to work with the mug on my car...the mug didn't survive.

I have been on the hunt for a mug that meets my standards ever since.
Well folks, I found her yesterday at good ol' Starbucks. I LOVE HER! It is now 11:35am and I'm still sippin my HOT coffee. Life is so good!

It's the little things

*Dad- you probably shouldn't read this post*

There are some things in my life that I give ZERO thought too...it's rare, but it happens.
One of those things are AIR FILTERS.This is what they look like in case you have never seen them either. Well I have an air filter upstairs and downstairs in my townhouse. I just don't "think" to change them...didn't really know it was that important. (Dad, if you are still reading then I'm really sorry that I have failed you!!!) In all honesty, I forget they are there...I don't walk around looking up at my ceilings. Call me dumb or lazy, I don't care.
Well apparently Mike has heard of this "air filter" concept and the importance of it. He came over with not 2 air filters but 4 so I would have some in reserve. He proceeded to explain the importance of air filters (in a very nice way), change them and made me put a calendar reminder on my bb. I should have taken a picture of the dirty filters but I thought my dad might never speak to me again.
So now when that little reminder goes off in 60 days (I know you told me 45 days but that is too soon I decided), I will have 2 more air filters waiting.
Thanks for taking such good care of me Love :)

Stellan

Most of you know that I have a slight obsession with blogs. I spend too many hours reading others blogs and most of the people I have never met.
One of the blogs I have been following is called "my charming kids". MckMama is a GREAT blogger and I look forward to her daily posts. Her sweet baby boy, Stellan, has a heart condition and has been in the hospital for a month.
MckMama's posts have been consumed with the unknown fate of her youngest son and her strong faith that is getting her through this time. It's amazing to read about her faithfulness and strength she finds in the Lord. Stellan was moved to a children's hospital in Boston and is having surgery on Tuesday.
Pray for Stellan, his family and the doctors on Tuesday. This 5 month old needs every prayer warrior we can give him.
I borrowed these pictures of Stellan- how can we resist that cutie?!?!

Easter Sunday

Sunday I got to church early because it was my week to volunteer. Someone asked me the other day if I was "that overly happy greeter girl that welcomes you to church on Sunday mornings"...HAHA!! I'm not sure I would say, "overly happy" but I am excited to welcome people to church on Sundays.

Anyways- Pastor started a series called the "HEALER" and it didn't disappoint. He spoke from Isaiah 53:1-6. He preached that you do not believe Jesus if you do not esteem his death in your life. WOW! Mike's parents came to Elevation for the first time and they seemed to really enjoy it as well.
After church, Mike and I took the dogs for a walk before heading to his grandparents house.

Here are the beautiful lilies that Mike bought me on Easter :)
We drove to Fort Mill for lunch/dinner at his grandparents house. We ate around 2:30pm, but the meal was so big it took the place of lunch and dinner. The food was awesome and I thought Mike was going to have to roll me out of the house. His grandparents invited their neighbors over as well so we all had a great time (their neighbors are hilarious). His grandpa took me around the yard and showed me all the flowers/plants he had planted and all the bird houses...too cute!! He has actually done an awesome job with the yard and I was very impressed. After taking a few pictures, it was time to head home. When we got home, we decided to head out for another walk since we just ate all that yummy food.
We are so blessed and Easter was a great reminder of it!!

The Hunt

Saturday Mike and I headed to Clemmons for Easter with my fam. We met Whit and Justin for breakfast and it was so good to catch up and hang out for a little bit. (Whit-by the time you read this, you better have gone to Walmart and bought Twilight! No library excuses)

We spent the rest of the day at my parents house. Mom was so excited about our annual Ea
ster basket hunt and couldn't wait for it to begin. Some might find this weird, but our family doesn't hunt for eggs we go for the baskets instead. We always complain that we are too old for the "hunt" but I'm a sucker for traditions so I secretly love it...I shouldn't admit that:)
Mike found his basket first (with my help) followed by me and Bones. After we found them, we got to sit and laugh at all the funny stuff in the baskets...and make sure everyone got equal amounts!!!!
The rest of the day consisted of Lora playing tech support, Mike helping dad fix things around the house, yummy food, seeing Deedee and Gregg and Skyping with Em/Greg/NATE, and driving home
my new car!!!!
It was another good Easter celebration at the Gibbs household!

Add it to the List

New Honda's and West Girls...what more could you ask for?!?!

Yes, you read that correctly-I got another new Honda. My dad found a really good deal on an accord and decided it was time to upgrade. I bought a newer accord with less miles and saw it for the first time today as I was paying for it. Most would find this VERY strange, but this is normal to me. This is the 6th accord I have owned in my short life and I don't really remember every finding one on my own. Dad is the Honda master and I knew he would find me a good one.
Anyways, she's a beauty and I'm excited dad found me another good one to keep for a while.

I ended the day with a fabulous dinner party at Melissa's house with my West Girls (minus Abs). Tara and Nathan are flying out of Charlotte tomorrow, so they decided to come into town early. I loved seeing baby Oliver-he is now 6 weeks old and has gotten so big! We had a great time catching up on life (girl talk) while the guys watched Sports Center! I love these girls and their husbands and I'm so blessed to call them by best friends.
