Happy Man

Mike has a few things he loves almost as much as he loves me...his smoker, outdoor patio heater and a nice cold beer. He enjoyed all of them Saturday night! He cooked two delicious beer can chickens for family dinner night with Kel & Robby!

He was so happy sitting on the patio, drinking beer and watching the chickens cook on the smoker.

Where it all began...

COLTRANE!!!
Freshman year of college, I made a dumb decision to go "potluck" so I could meet new people. Well God has a sense of humor because I was paired with a JUNIOR named Mary Margaret. "Good Catholic girl" was my first assumption but that couldn't have been far enough from the truth. Mary was crazy (in multiple ways) so that forced me to hang out in the lobby more.

I met Kelly the first day of freshman year and we were instant friends. We soon met 3 other girls that lived on our hall. They thought I was too straight and narrow and I thought they were too "bad" and "hippie". A little influence on each other and all was well :) I can honestly say I have never met more genuine people than those girls. We laughed until we cried, shared some crazy days and night and learned from each other.

We all graduated in 2004 and started different lives. Since graduation, we have emailed every few years and caught up on life. Well thanks to this thing called, Facebook, we reconnected again. We made plans to meet for lunch on Sunday. I am almost crying writing this because I was so happy to see them again. We had the BEST lunch on Sunday and we didn't miss a beat. We all looked and felt like we had won the lottery when we saw each other. Our lives have changed over the years with boyfriends, husbands, cities, and babies. But it was refreshing to pickup right where we left off and keep on going.
I can't wait to have our girls weekend in Charlotte and make more memories!!!

Erin was having more fun stalking Andy McDowell than smiling for the camera
Sadly Kim couldn't make it, so Erin picked the most attractive picture to bring
our 100th photo

All About Love

That was the theme of Saturday night! We all came together to celebrate the engagement of Kyle & Lauren. The engagement party was just a warm up for their upcoming July wedding! I'm so excited to see these two lovebirds tie the knot and I can't wait to continue to make memories through the years.
Congrats Kyle & BFF

No CP3

The Hornets were playing the Bobcats on Saturday night so I thought it would be fun to see Chris Paul play again. CP3 decided he would hurt his knee so I couldn't see him play. But don't worry, that didn't stop us from having a great night.

We met the Morrow's and St. Louis families for dinner then walked next door to the arena. One of my old co-workers works at the Bobcats arena and was nice enough to give us great seats. We had center court seats and they were perfect! Terry, CT, Bracken, Kess and Tester had amazing 10th row seats so it was fun to watch them in front of us during the game!

When we sat in our seats, all Robby kept saying was, "I have always dreamed of sitting in these seats." hahaha...too funny.
To make the game even better, my super in shape neighbor Sara danced at halftime. She did a great job and had a smile on her face the whole time!!

Sara is front and center...and rockin it!

Even though we didn't get to see Chris Paul play and the Bobcats lost, we had a great night!

Fat Camp

Yes, its true...we might get sent to fat camp after all these delicious cake tastings. Most people say they have "A sweet tooth", but I say "sweet TEETH"! I love desserts A LOT and we really want our cake to taste good.
Over the last few weeks, we have tasted so many samples of cake. Each one has been unique in its own way. Well last week, we had a cake tasting with Cindy. She didn't just bring us samples, she brought us 3 whole cakes! We had a meeting with her and then headed back home so we could sample all the cakes. We liked the cakes but wanted to tweak a few things just to make sure.
Sweet Cindy made us 1 more cake and we tasted it last n
ight...it was fantastic!!! I think it tasted even better because its such a great DEAL.
Desserts and good deals are a sure way straight to my heart.

We are meeting with our wedding planner this week to discuss all the tasting and pick a winner...but I think Cindy might have won my sweet teeth already!

(our cake will NOT have pink fondant so don't worry)

Prancer & the rabbit

We were one of the lucky North Carolinian's to get part of the "winter storm". I always feel like a kid the night of the storm. I wake up several times and look out the window to make sure the snow is actually falling. I woke up early on Saturday morning just so I could take the dogs outside to play in the snow.
I have to say, they loved it more than last year. They ran around, ate the snow and dug around to find the toys.
O'Malley likes to "prance" and Zoe looks like a rabbit.

This pictures actually looks like Zoe is running for her life!
